Day 2. Cwmbiga to Llanidloes

Tuesday 23 August.

We had a good time at Cwmbiga and if I get time later I will blog about it in more detail. However you should be able to find it on the www if you are particularly interested.

It is shown in the first of the photos below. Note the sky!!!! The photo was taken in full sun when we left about 10am. We had a 45 minute road walk to join up with the Severn Way at the car park where we left it yesterday. The next photo shows the car park sign.

The path initially ran beside the river but after the spot where the waterfall was photographed the Way moved onto the road and climbed high above the river with beautiful pastoral views, in full sun.

The path then crossed the river and we stopped for lunch.  We were buzzed by a jet fighter.

We remained on the same bank until about a mile from Llanidloes where we crossed back to the side we started the day. A beautiful sumny day with glorious views and not too many vehicles. The narrow single lane nature of the road, as can be seen in the photos, helps to limit the traffic.

We arrived im Llanidloes just after 3pm. Only 5 hours to walk 16 km. We are nearly back to our 2mph pace. How's that for mixed units.
